Providing the needed care for the children of our communities is not what we do, it’s who we are! For many years our impact has been inside Pitt County Schools. Our “GIVE BACK PROGRAM” was originally started to help persons with “RE-ENTRY” needs. Providing BARBERING / GROOMING / COSMETOLOGY services at community events and partnering with local legislators to accomplish those goals is how we got our start. Fast forward to “50 FREE,” which was our contribution to the nationwide “NO BULLYING CAMPAIGN.” Still active and well functioning as our annual service event, it provides free haircuts and grooming services for the back to school season. Each year we’re increasingly surprised at how quickly we surpass the “50,” and reach well over triple that amount!

Our “SCHOOL WORK” program is called the “GROOMING HEARTS INITIATIVE.” This initiative is a partnership that affords us the opportunity to put our dreams into action. Partnering with several County School Boards, along with other Public / Private Educational Programs across the eastern portion of North Carolina, gives us the platform we need to “be the change we wish to see.” Our volunteers and staff are always looking for the opportunity to lend our service to those in need. Ice Breakers, Motivational Speaking, Vocational / Career Dreamers and Grooming Sessions are among the programs offered to the Schools that we are so fortunate to be partnered with.

“GIVE BACK” and “50 FREE” have lead us to the “GROOMING HEARTS INITIATIVE.” Grooming Hearts is simply a network of partnerships that place us in the spaces that we can serve at our highest capacity. Mentoring, Grooming and Shaping young hearts and minds while showing support to the EDUCATORS who actually accomplish those goals each and every day, is exactly where we are directed to be. Barbering is the outside maintenance that most will see, but the directive is to accomplish a change in the minds of those we serve. The Motivational Speaking Assemblies and Ice Breaker Sessions are vehicles we use to groom the entire individual. It truly becomes the tool used to Refine Continually, and lasts far beyond all assemblies are over.
